The Art of Healthy Hair
In the early 1970's, Joico founder Steve Stefano was a licensed cosmetologist and owner of a chain of successful salons in Southern California. He was also on a quest for the perfect hair care product: one that could strengthen and beautify. But he could not find a formula on the market that met his expectations.

Out of this effort, Joico International was born in 1975 and an exciting discovery was made. Working together, Joico scientists and salon professionals found that keratin protein, the substance that makes up hair's natural fabric, could be used in hair care products, with amazing results. The team refined and developed the material into Triamine Complex. This ingredient became the foundation of all Joico's products and the company became known as the health hair company.

Styling products were added to Joico's product mix. In 1998, to address the special styling needs of a new generation of salon customers, Joico launched its I-C-E HAIR and later, its SPIKER products. These shampoos, conditioners and styling products are geared for the street fashion minded 15- to 20-year olds.

Based on the incredible results provided by Joico's K-Pak Deep Penetrating Reconstructor, stylists began asking for more reconstruction products. In response, Joico introduced the K-Pak Collection, an entire line of reconstructing products, including a shampoo, conditioner, leave-in protectant, protective serum, and the original K-Pak Deep Penetrating Reconstructor.

Always one step ahead of stylists and their clients, Joico continues to create new products that meet and exceed the expectations of their customers. In 2001, Joico introduced con_text, a new line of styling products designed for the fashion-forward twenty- to thirty-something customer.

Joico International offers over fifty products -- including The Joico Collection, The K-Pak Collection, con_text, I-C-E HAIR, Vero, and Triactive Systems -- that reconstruct, revitalize, color and beautify hair. With Joico, there is something for everyone.
